This is shaping up to be one of the most exciting seasons in recent memory, and AFL footy tickets have been going quickly as fans look to get in on the action as we head towards the finals series and the country’s premier sporting event, the Grand Final, which will be played on 30 September in Melbourne. The Melbourne Cricket Ground will once again host it, which it has done since 1946 with one exception (1991).
Tight Ladder Pushes Sales of AFL Footy
As we push through the season’s mid-way point, 15 of the league’s 18 sides are within a win of advancing to the finals series. This sense of unpredictability has caused many of the most devoted followers of the sport to become even more engaged. It has also helped cause more and more of those who formerly had a cursory interest in AFL footy tickets to become more interested than they had been.
AFL Grand Final
There is nothing quite like clutching some AFL footy tickets for the game that everybody looks forward to most, the Grand Final, and this year is no exception. It’s always sold out – 99,981 attended the 2016 edition – and plenty of fun activities surround the event. An especially popular one is the parade, which is where players from both teams are paraded through the streets the Friday before the game.
Two upcoming weekends will be the focus of those who want to attend an intense contest between rival clubs. On 15 July, Greater Western Sydney play host to Sydney at Spotless Stadium. The next day, West Coast take on Fremantle at Domain Stadium, which they share. A few weeks later, on 5 August, Essendon take on Carlton at MCG while Adelaide play Port Adelaide at the Adelaide Oval the next day.
